With the upcoming Dawn of Legends through playtesting and now off to final editing and layout preparation, Creative Director Mike Dukes takes us behind the scenes on two different Power Schemes available to characters: Power Networks and Power Spectrums.

Designed with versatility in mind, Power Networks and Power Spectrums allow for characters to possess a wide array of powers all dependent upon a unifying theme.  After all, even in the world of comic books, phenominal power has a price . . . .

Dawn of Legends, the upcoming character-driven setting of super-heroic adventure, brings several new things to the Savage Worlds license family.  From the new Popularity feature that represents a character’s Public Image, to the new mechanics for building a Super-Team and making it as unique as its members, Dawn of Legends supports a wide variety of super-heroic play-styles.

In the seventh Design Journal, Creative Director Mike Dukes takes us behind the curtain on the new effects-based powers system.

                               The Dawn of Legends! 

With those words, Creative Director Mike Dukes helped launch a process that will see the Autumn Arbor setting enter into the Savage Worlds license family.  Designed as a character-driven setting of Sagas and Heroes, Dawn of Legends brings several new things to the Savage Worlds family.

In the sixth Design Journal, Mike Dukes takes us into the Dawn of Legends sagas: the various plot-point campaigns that will support the setting, and what fans can expect from them.

Teth-Ammon was long ago settled by the Terra'ssar, massive draconic beings from the ancient past of the universe's history.  Millennia ago, they ruled a vast interstellar Empire and routinely raided their former home world for slaves that they altered with strange magics mixed with bizarre technologies.  Now, many centuries later, their Empire is fallen and only legends of their true past remain.  The descendants of humanity have become hundreds of different species that despise one another and only rarely work together.

It is only against even greater threats that they can even form temporary alliances.

With its focus on character-oriented stories and a new effects-based powers system, Dawn of Legends brings the award nominated Autumn Arbor: City of Legends to life in Pinnacle Entertainment’s Savage Worlds role-playing game license.

In the fifth Design Journal, Lee F. Szczepanik, Jr. gives us a preview of another upcoming new feature to the setting: Super-Teams.  More than just a random collection of heroes under one roof, Dawn of Legends takes Super-Teams into a new direction.
